The DP World Tour reported that Jeff Winther fired a final-round 67 to claim the 2026 Danish Golf Championship at Great Northern in Kerteminde. The 38-year-old Dane finished at 15 under par, three shots ahead of five players tied for second place. Winther’s triumph came in front of a vocal home crowd and represented his second victory on the tour following his 2021 success at the Mallorca Open.
According to the European Tour website, a six-way tie for the lead existed midway through the final round. Rasmus Hojgaard chipped in for eagle on the 17th hole to briefly share top spot with Winther. Winther answered with an eagle on the par-4 16th hole before closing with two pars to secure the title as fans delivered a standing ovation on the 17th.
Winther told the DP World Tour that the home victory ranked as one of the greatest moments in his life. “It’s just a joke, really,” he said while noting that only the births of his children ranked higher. His wife and two young children watched from the gallery throughout the dramatic closing stretch.
Emirates News Agency WAM reported that Adrian Otaegui’s solid showing in Denmark kept him in strong contention for a place at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. The player switched his international allegiance from Spain to the UAE in recent years. A top-50 finish in the Race to Dubai would deliver a historic qualification for a golfer representing the UAE.
DP World Tour rankings data places the championship in Dubai each November for the top 50 players by points accumulated across the season. Otaegui’s result at the Danish Golf Championship improved his standing in that list. The development builds on his runner-up finish at the Volvo China Open in April, which WAM described as the best result in UAE golf history on the tour.
The Danish Golf Championship ran from August 13 to 16 and featured several leading Nordic players, including past winner Rasmus Hojgaard.
