Dubai Chambers organized 15 legal events in the first six months of 2026 that drew participation from 1551 representatives of private sector companies, the organization said in a press release. The events formed part of ongoing efforts to help the business community navigate the latest legislative and regulatory developments while strengthening legal awareness among companies in the emirate. These sessions provided companies with access to reliable legal information and practical guidance on regulatory requirements, according to the release.
The statement from Dubai Chambers noted that the program included 10 specialised seminars and five workshops delivered in collaboration with experts from leading law firms. Participants received practical guidance on recent legislative developments and engaged directly with legal specialists to explore best practices for reducing legal and operational risks. Topics covered ranged from corporate compliance and the UAE employment law framework to commercial contracts, real estate legislation, intellectual property rights and corporate tax regulations.
Sessions also examined force majeure provisions in commercial contracts under UAE law and offered guidance on how such clauses should be interpreted, negotiated and applied, the press release added. Another key area of focus was the new Civil Transactions Law, with attendees receiving an overview of the legislation and its implications for contracts, obligations and business activities. The law represents a major legislative development that introduces substantial changes to the framework governing civil transactions across the UAE, according to the release.
Khalid AlJarwan, executive vice president of commercial and corporate services at Dubai Chambers, commented in the statement that the chamber remained committed to equipping the business community with the practical knowledge needed to keep pace with evolving legislative and regulatory requirements. AlJarwan added that the events continued to support business competitiveness and foster a transparent and agile environment that enables companies to grow and expand from Dubai into global markets. The executive emphasised that strengthening compliance and legal awareness helped businesses manage risk and enhance competitiveness.
A previous Dubai Chambers announcement indicated that 19 legal awareness events attracted 1414 participants in the first half of 2025, showing an increase in attendance this year despite a lower number of sessions. The chamber has recorded steady growth in its membership base, with its website placing the number of active member companies above 292000. More than 35000 new companies joined during the first half of 2025, according to an earlier chamber report that highlighted year-over-year expansion of 4 percent.
The legal initiatives align with broader work by Dubai Chambers to support the emirate’s expanding private sector, where membership renewals have also risen. Data from the organization showed monthly new member additions continuing into 2026, including 2709 companies that joined in March alone. Such figures underscore the scale of the business community that stands to benefit from regular legal awareness programs.
