According to the Emirates News Agency, DEWA achieved 7.4 million digital transactions in H1 2026 through its expanding array of online platforms. The utility attributed the volume to its sustained digital transformation strategy that has encouraged customers to handle billing, inquiries and service requests remotely. This total marks a rise from the more than 7.2 million digital transactions completed in the first half of 2025, according to DEWA’s previous updates. The authority has prioritised user-friendly interfaces to support seamless interactions for its large customer base in Dubai.
DEWA data shows that customers leveraged the official website, smart mobile application and other digital tools to complete these transactions. The platforms enable a range of functions from account management to fault reporting without the need for in-person visits. Such capabilities have reduced operational burdens on service centres while maintaining high standards of responsiveness.
Public Authority figures from DEWA place the customer account total at 1.347 million in the first quarter of 2026 following a record quarterly increase of 19,803 accounts. The authority expanded its transmission infrastructure to 402 substations by the end of June to underpin growing demand for electricity and water services. These upgrades, part of a broader AED 7 billion smart grid investment, facilitate the reliable backend operations required for elevated digital activity.
DEWA’s AI-powered virtual assistant Rammas has handled more than 13 million customer inquiries since its introduction, with substantial activity continuing through mid-2026. The system integrates directly with transaction workflows to deliver immediate assistance on common issues. This technology has bolstered the overall digital ecosystem and contributed to efficiency gains across customer service channels.
The results align with Dubai’s push toward a cashless economy where digital methods are projected to dominate transactions by the end of 2026, according to emirate-wide initiatives. In its quarterly financial statements, DEWA highlighted record revenues and profit growth for the opening months of the year. The authority also noted a 5.51 percent rise in desalinated water production to a new high during the period as it scaled operations to match population and economic expansion.
