The partnership will see Abu Dhabi stage the final stop of the four-leg series from October 21 to 24, 2027, according to details released by the Hexagon World Series. This marks the first time the competition will be held in the Middle East. The overall champion will be decided in Abu Dhabi after teams accumulate points from all events, the organizers reported. Madrid will open the season in January at the Caja Mágica while North America and Scandinavia host the second and third legs.
According to the FIP World Padel Report 2026, padel now counts more than 40 million players globally with over 91,000 courts, reflecting 20 percent annual growth in infrastructure. The UAE has contributed significantly to this expansion, operating more than 950 courts across 320 venues as of mid-2026, an ELPADEL industry overview found. Abu Dhabi’s selection builds on the emirate’s established track record of hosting major international sports events that draw global audiences and participants.
The Hexagon World Series features eight teams competing in a revolutionary format that eliminates traditional sets and games in favor of a new scoring system, series officials explained. Dalma Team has been introduced as Abu Dhabi’s representative franchise for the entire season. Other teams include AD/vantage Padel Team backed by Andy Murray, the Rafa Nadal Academy Team, Eleven Eleven with Eva Longoria, KRÜ Padel, Team Bella Puerto Rico and X Padel, according to the official calendar. One additional franchise is still to be announced.
The International Padel Federation has integrated the Hexagon World Series into its official calendar alongside the CUPRA FIP Tour and Premier Padel, a December 2025 federation announcement stated. This structure aims to create a unified professional ecosystem for the sport with equal prize money for male and female competitors. The series evolved from the original Hexagon Cup that began in Madrid and now expands to multiple continents for its first full season.
Padel’s popularity in the region has surged, with the UAE padel market valued at 205 million dollars in 2025 and projected to reach 437 million by 2034, according to Deep Market Insights. The sport’s inclusion in school programs and real estate developments has further accelerated adoption across all seven emirates. Hosting the World Series finale is expected to attract top international players and increase local engagement in the growing discipline.
The Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi continues to position the emirate as a premier destination for world-class sporting events through targeted collaborations with international governing bodies. The announcement coincides with the series’ unveiling of its full 2027 calendar earlier this month. Specific venues within Abu Dhabi for the October event will be confirmed in due course, organizers indicated.
