The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a strategic retreat in October 2025 with its leadership and employees to formulate innovative projects and initiatives for 2026 and 2027 that enhance the emirate’s economic competitiveness and investment attractiveness. Eng. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, chairman of the Ajman Chamber, stated that the gathering marked a platform for institutional development and better readiness to support national initiatives driving economic growth and attracting investments in Ajman and the UAE. The event focused on launching ambitious projects to empower entrepreneurs and sustain private sector member establishments in line with the directions of Ajman Vision 2030.
Al Muwaiji added that the retreat served to support institutional development while keeping pace with national initiatives across the country. Sessions during the two-day gathering at the Fairmont Ajman involved proposing and discussing various projects along with adopting recommendations for high-quality innovative initiatives. The gathering established practical frameworks for future foresight and solutions to back growth and sustainability of private sector businesses in the emirate.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the retreat resulted in more than 20 projects serving entrepreneurs, investors, chamber members and future generations. Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, vice chairman of the Ajman Chamber, said the involvement of leaders and staff in the strategic retreat represents a proactive step towards building a new phase of innovative projects and service development. These efforts tie directly into broader work updating and implementing projects that respond to the needs of the business community.
The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre reported that the UAE economy reached 961.9 billion dirhams in the first half of 2026 with non-oil GDP growing 1.8 percent and accounting for 79.2 percent of the total. Such national expansion highlights the importance of chamber-level planning in emirates like Ajman to foster private sector contributions and economic diversification. The Ajman Chamber’s 2027 projects build on this foundation by emphasising technology and targeted support for business sustainability.
Ajman has separately advanced urban development through a 1.8 billion dirham agenda of 30 projects to upgrade roads, expand cycling networks by 16 kilometres and create 330,000 square metres of parks and community spaces by 2030, Gulf News reported. These municipal efforts align with the chamber’s focus on improving the business environment and investment appeal. The chamber’s outlined initiatives for 2027 seek to reinforce such progress by strengthening private sector readiness and operational efficiency.
The retreat reviewed alignment of all projects with the chamber’s institutional strategic objectives while enhancing its role in the emirate’s overall competitiveness. Al Muwaiji affirmed the importance of updating services to match evolving economic dynamics and investment opportunities through modern technologies. This approach ensures the chamber remains responsive to member needs and national priorities for sustainable growth.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce recorded member exports and re-exports worth 356.5 billion dirhams in 2025 with 13.2 percent growth in active membership to 292,486 companies, according to Dubai Chambers data. The performance across UAE chambers demonstrates the potential impact of strategic planning like Ajman’s on trade facilitation and business expansion. Officials at the Ajman retreat stressed similar outcomes through their forward-looking projects aimed at entrepreneurs and the wider business community.
