H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, received a group of teachers working in Al Dhafra schools along with citizens at Majlis Zayed City on Monday, according to the Emirates News Agency. During the gathering, Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed the role of education in developing individuals and praised the dedication of educators in preparing future generations while noting the leadership’s support for teachers. He affirmed that teachers serve as key partners in nation-building and that advancing education represents an investment in the UAE’s future, the news agency reported.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed listened to the views and needs of the teachers, citizens and residents present, emphasising the value of direct engagement to support comprehensive development and enhance quality of life across the region, a WAM dispatch stated. The discussions covered various topics related to education and community affairs as attendees exchanged perspectives with the sheikh. Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Under-Secretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Dhafra Region, attended the majlis alongside other officials from the area.
The reception forms part of ongoing community engagements by Sheikh Hamdan in Al Dhafra, where he has similarly received top-performing high school students for the 2025-2026 academic year earlier this year, according to separate Emirates News Agency reports. In those meetings, he congratulated students on their achievements and encouraged them to pursue studies that contribute to the region’s growth in sectors such as energy and technology. Such events underscore a sustained focus on education as a cornerstone of development in the Al Dhafra Region.
Sheikh Hamdan inaugurated the new campus of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities in Zayed City in late 2025, an expansion that offers programmes in humanities and Islamic studies while promoting values of tolerance and citizenship, WAM data shows. The initiative aligns with broader UAE efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and empower national talent in underserved areas. University officials at the time expressed appreciation for the support that advances the country’s academic landscape.
Attendance at the October 5 majlis also included Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to the official news agency account. These gatherings allow senior figures to review service levels and citizen wellbeing while reinforcing bonds between leadership and the community. The pattern of regular majlis sessions has characterised governance in the Al Dhafra Region for years, facilitating feedback on public needs.
