The Sharjah FDI Office reported a 45 percent year-on-year increase in foreign direct investment project numbers for 2025, when the emirate welcomed 142 such initiatives compared to 98 the year before. Capital investment totalled AED 7.74 billion, marking an 8.8 percent rise, while the projects generated 5,673 jobs, up 25.7 percent from 2024 levels, according to the office’s data. These outcomes highlight the diversity of economic activity supported by multiple growth drivers across the emirate.

Invest in Sharjah noted that the figures include a balance of new entrants and expansions by existing businesses, with 188 domestic investments, 96 projects under new forms of investment and 47 greenfield projects recorded. Approximately 75 percent of the investment projects advanced to operational stage during the year. The food and beverage sector led with 28 percent of total projects followed by consumer products at 20 percent.

His Excellency Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, said, “Indicators of FDI inflows and performance in 2025 reflect Sharjah’s advancement as a reliable investment destination, thanks to the strength of its economic sectors, the flexibility of its regulatory environment, the efficiency of its infrastructure, and its ability to attract high-quality projects that align with sustainable growth objectives. These priorities remain a core pillar of Sharjah’s strategy, enhancing its competitiveness at the regional and global levels.” The CEO’s remarks came as the agency released its annual performance data. The statement underlined Sharjah’s focus on sustainable growth objectives.

Al Musharrkh further stated that the composition of the total investment projects in the emirate shows a clear balance between new market entrants and expansion linked to the reinvestment of existing businesses. “The 2025 data indicates that the projects include 188 domestic investments, 96 projects across new forms of investments, along with 47 greenfield projects,” he continued. This balance reflects the depth of confidence in Sharjah’s business environment and its ability to stimulate growth from within the market while continuing to attract new investment, according to the CEO.

Figures from fDi Markets, a service of the Financial Times, indicate that industrial investment into Sharjah has surpassed AED 3.51 billion across 99 projects over the past five years, including AED 1.6 billion from 31 projects in 2025. The latest FDI performance builds upon this industrial base and extends into other sectors such as logistics, real estate and manufacturing, Arabian Business reported. Such trends reinforce Sharjah’s role in the UAE’s broader economic framework.

Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, said, “Sharjah has built an investment environment that remains steady and confident in the face of global change.” He attributed this strength to a clear development vision, close alignment between the public and private sectors, and an economy shaped by diverse sectors that continue to support one another. Al Qaseer noted that the role of entities like Shurooq and Invest in Sharjah is to identify emerging opportunities and convert market confidence into practical partnerships that advance the emirate’s long-term growth.
