The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has dedicated a pavilion at the 33rd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair to highlight its ongoing digital transformation in judicial services, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency. Officials detailed platforms that allow remote case filing and tracking, which the department said have reduced average processing times by nearly 40 percent over recent years. The display includes demonstrations of online dispute resolution tools that have resolved hundreds of commercial and family cases without requiring physical court appearances.

ADJD further outlined its community outreach strategy during the event, which runs through early May, with a focus on educational workshops that have engaged more than 15,000 residents since their launch. The department reported that these sessions cover topics ranging from contract rights to family law, delivered in partnership with local schools and civic organizations. Representatives at the pavilion distributed materials and answered queries to encourage greater public engagement with legal processes.

According to ADJD, its family guidance and mediation center has handled over 5,000 cases in the past 12 months, achieving reconciliation in 70 percent of them and sparing families prolonged litigation. The fair presentation featured case studies illustrating how early intervention prevents escalation while preserving relationships. Experts from the center were on site to explain eligibility criteria and the benefits of voluntary participation in mediation sessions.

The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, has grown into one of the Middle East’s largest cultural gatherings, with the prior edition drawing 420 publishers from 91 countries and more than 280,000 visitors, centre figures show. ADJD’s consistent participation aligns with the fair’s emphasis on knowledge dissemination across legal and social domains. This year’s involvement includes live discussions on emerging legal trends that integrate technology with traditional judicial practices.

ADJD also presented its legal aid initiatives targeting underserved communities, which provided free consultations to more than 2,000 individuals last year, the department’s data indicates. These programs prioritize women, juveniles and low-income expatriates, offering guidance on residency, employment and inheritance matters. Pavilion staff collected visitor feedback to refine service delivery and expand reach in future campaigns.

In an additional focus area, the department showcased training programs run through its Judicial Institute, which has certified over 1,200 legal professionals since 2020 according to ADJD records. Interactive elements allowed fairgoers to simulate court procedures and learn about judicial ethics. The initiatives underscore a broader commitment to transparency and efficiency within Abu Dhabi’s legal framework.
