Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun during a working visit to Washington, reviewing UAE-US strategic relations and joint initiatives aimed at advancing dialogue, tolerance and a culture of coexistence. The sides addressed the importance of the Abraham Accords as a platform for building trust and consolidating peace in the region, according to the Emirates News Agency. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed affirmed that the UAE attaches special importance to supporting international efforts to combat antisemitism in line with its approach to human fraternity.

The Emirates News Agency reported that Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed stressed protecting societies from hate speech and extremism as a collective responsibility requiring close international cooperation. He described the promotion of mutual understanding among peoples and a culture of dialogue as a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable peace. The UAE official reiterated his country’s commitment to continued cooperation with the United States and partners to advance security, stability and the values of coexistence at all levels.

The Muslim Council of Elders has described the UAE as a pioneering model in promoting the values of dialogue, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and human fraternity while rejecting hate speech and discrimination. The council pointed to the Document on Human Fraternity signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019 as a significant milestone in modern interfaith dialogue. UAE initiatives include the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence along with projects such as the Abrahamic Family House that symbolise mutual understanding among religions.

Figures from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre place the UAE population at more than 11 million with representation from over 200 nationalities, reflecting the country’s foundation in diversity and inclusion. The Permanent Mission of the UAE to the United Nations has stated that the country has followed a progressive vision rooted in tolerance and coexistence for over 50 years. This approach supports its foreign policy partnerships including longstanding ties with the United States on shared priorities.

The February 2026 meeting was attended by Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State, and Yousef Manea Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, according to the Emirates News Agency. Discussions built upon previous UAE-US engagements that have encompassed counterterrorism collaboration and efforts to reduce regional tensions. The Abraham Accords signed in 2020 have since facilitated expanded cultural exchanges and interfaith initiatives between the two nations and their partners.
