The Zayed Authority for People of Determination has prepared its care and rehabilitation centers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions to receive 2,121 students with various disabilities for the start of the 2026/2027 academic year. The network includes specialized autism centers as well as vocational and agricultural rehabilitation departments for students over the age of 16, according to the authority. Qualified professionals have been assigned to deliver individualized educational and rehabilitation services that promote independence and community inclusion.

According to the authority, all facilities underwent maintenance and upgrades prior to the opening with environments equipped using the latest technologies to meet student needs. Modern curricula incorporating artificial intelligence elements have been introduced alongside tailored individual education plans for each participant. The authority affirmed its readiness to support full integration of students into educational routines from the first day of classes.

Enrollment this year reached 2,121 students, a figure that builds on the approximately 2,100 welcomed during the previous academic cycle, authority figures show. The body provides integrated services to more than 28,000 beneficiaries throughout Abu Dhabi, a Zayed Authority assessment found. These programs extend beyond classrooms to include vocational training pathways that align with national qualifications standards.

Nationwide, more than 1.277 million students returned to over 1,180 public and private schools on August 31, the Ministry of Education reported. The ministry opened 11 new schools, deployed 5,810 buses and distributed 8 million textbooks while rolling out enhanced professional development and artificial intelligence programs for teachers. Such initiatives coincide with the authority’s efforts to align specialized support with broader education reforms.

The Zayed Authority has secured national accreditation for its vocational education programs at levels one and two from the National Qualifications Center, the authority stated. Partnerships with higher education bodies have expanded to facilitate inclusive academic pathways and practical training opportunities for students of determination. These collaborations focus on technical coordination and the provision of assistive tools to support learner independence.

Centers under the authority have emphasized family engagement as a core element of student support during the new academic year, according to the body. Activities at locations such as the Al Ain Autism Center have highlighted creative and rehabilitative programs that reinforce inclusion. The authority continues to track progress through data-driven approaches to refine services and expand access for all registered beneficiaries.
