Sharjah Youth has launched the inaugural edition of its Professional Swimming programme to develop sporting abilities and establish routes toward higher-level competition, the organisation said. The initiative operates under a professional training framework that accounts for participants of differing capabilities and consists of five distinct levels progressing from foundational swimming techniques to advanced competitive proficiency in the four core strokes of freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke. It forms a core component of the broader Your Summer With Us 2026 schedule and seeks to ready youths for involvement with sports clubs as well as national and international events through standardised methods that stress safety and positive reinforcement.
The programme is running at all eight Sharjah Youth centres spread throughout the emirate in Wasit, Al Dhaid, Mleiha, Al Madam, Al Thameed, Kalba, Khorfakkan and Dibba Al Hisn. Enrolment is restricted to male youths in the 13-to-18 age range with the goal of elevating their capabilities via a comprehensive system grounded in consistent training protocols. Sharjah Youth emphasised that the setup creates a protected and stimulating atmosphere designed to maximise individual growth.
A centralised digital monitoring platform allows programme supervisors to follow each swimmer’s advancement through the various levels by logging times along with other training outcomes. The system delivers precise data on development patterns and supports tailored guidance for every participant. Such technological integration ensures uniformity across all centres while facilitating measurable progress tracking from entry to completion.
Participants will have opportunities to evaluate their abilities in a series of competitive events featuring races of differing distances before the schedule reaches its peak with an Elite Championship. That concluding contest will gather high-achieving swimmers from every location to pursue personal best performances under competitive conditions. Sharjah Youth described the championship as an important incentive for participants to demonstrate their full potential.
The launch extends earlier sports programming by the same body including the Elite Swimming Championship staged in November 2025 that involved 70 members from the eight centres and awarded top swimmer titles in both junior and youth divisions according to Sharjah24 coverage. Sharjah Youth functions as an affiliate of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators which maintains a dedicated sports track encompassing disciplines such as triathlon judo and water polo in addition to swimming to advance physical development and competitive preparedness. The foundation’s model centres on early identification and sustained nurturing of talent among 13-to-18-year-olds across its network of facilities.
Registration takes place directly at the centres where places remain limited and interested youths must meet the specified age criteria. The structured sequence from basic instruction to elite competition aligns with the organisation’s aim of delivering specialised pathways that surpass standard recreational offerings. This edition marks the first time the professional swimming format has been introduced under the Sharjah Youth umbrella.
