Borouge Plc said in a statement that its board approved the $656 million interim dividend for the first half of 2026. The decision follows an early August indication from the company that the payout level would be set no later than August 15. WAM carried the announcement, framing the distribution as part of the firm’s established return policy to investors.

Company data places Borouge’s cumulative dividends since listing above $4.24 billion. The latest figure aligns closely with the $660 million interim dividend approved for the first half of 2025 and the subsequent full-year total of $1.32 billion at 16.2 fils per share. Borouge previously reported that the 2025 full-year payout represented a dividend yield of 6.3 percent.

A Borouge announcement detailing first-quarter 2026 results showed net profit of $156 million on revenue of $1.2 billion. Adjusted EBITDA reached $343 million while production totaled 1.21 million tonnes at 98 percent of nameplate capacity and sales came to 1.09 million tonnes. The company attributed the performance to operational efficiency and market conditions in the period ending March.

The Abu Dhabi-based polyolefins producer completed its transition to a pure-play entity with the formation of Borouge Group International on March 30, 2026, according to company updates. This restructuring is expected to generate EBITDA synergies over time. Borouge operates as a joint venture between ADNOC and Borealis and maintains a focus on international sales channels.

Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, managing director and chief executive officer, pointed to resilience and cost discipline in the first-quarter update issued by the company. The executive emphasised continued focus on business continuity amid global petrochemical dynamics. Such measures have supported consistent financial delivery across recent reporting periods.

The H1 2026 dividend will be paid to eligible shareholders on a schedule to be confirmed in subsequent notices, the statement indicated. Borouge has followed a pattern of announcing interim distributions in the third quarter in prior years. The payout draws on the company’s cash position without altering underlying operational plans.
