The UAE Pro League preview released on August 19, 2026, identified two fixtures rich in history for the second matchweek of the 2026-27 ADNOC Pro League season. Al Nasr are set to face Al Wahda at Al Maktoum Stadium on Friday evening with kickoff scheduled for 20:35. Sharjah will then take on Al Jazira at Sharjah Stadium on Sunday at the same time as both clubs aim to build on positive opening results.

According to the league website, Al Wahda hold a clear edge in the head-to-head record with 18 wins from 34 Pro League meetings against four victories for Al Nasr and 12 draws. Al Wahda have extended the longest unbeaten sequence in the fixture by avoiding defeat in their last 12 encounters, which include five wins and seven draws. The clubs also lead the competition in total draws accumulated across Pro League history with Al Wahda on 112 and Al Nasr on 103.

The official assessment found that Al Nasr have remained unbeaten in their last seven home Pro League games at Al Maktoum Stadium, recording two wins and five draws during that stretch. Al Wahda opened the new campaign with a 3-2 loss to Ajman yet have never lost their first two matches of any Pro League season. Syrian international Omar Khribin has contributed to 13 goals across his previous 12 league appearances against Al Nasr, scoring eight times and registering five assists.

In the Sunday fixture the league reported that Al Jazira have recorded 18 wins from 32 Pro League meetings with Sharjah, who have claimed five victories with nine draws. Al Jazira have scored 65 goals in those encounters, a figure matched only by Al Ain as the highest total against Sharjah. Ali Mabkhout stands as the fixture’s all-time leading scorer with 12 goals while Caio Lucas has contributed to seven of Sharjah’s last 12 goals in the matchup through three strikes and four assists.

Both teams secured victories in the opening round of the 2026-27 season, the league data showed, with Sharjah defeating Al Dhafra 3-1 and Al Jazira overcoming Hatta 2-0. Sharjah will pursue a sixth campaign in which they win their first two matches while Al Jazira chase a fifth such start. Sharjah have also avoided a draw in their last 17 Pro League home games, registering seven wins and 10 defeats in that sequence.

The 2026-27 ADNOC Pro League produced a record 33 goals across all Matchweek 1 fixtures, according to the league website. Sebastian Tagliabue is listed as the all-time top scorer in the Al Nasr versus Al Wahda history with 13 goals. Shabab Al Ahli captured the 2024-25 ADNOC Pro League title with a 2-1 victory over Al Jazira on the final day of that campaign.
