Sharjah Capability Development Foundation launched the “Towards the Peaks” programme to enable youth to climb mountain peaks in three stages the organisation reported. The stages begin with a local peak then move to an Arab peak before concluding with a global peak. Thirteen out of 14 participants reached the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro which stands 5,895 metres above sea level after receiving intensive training in mountain climbing and adaptation to different heights and terrains according to the foundation.

The programme focuses on enhancing skills such as teamwork persistence perseverance mental and physical flexibility and resilience a foundation assessment found. Participants who completed the Kilimanjaro ascent expressed pride in their accomplishment. They noted the journey proved challenging yet helped build self-confidence and provided opportunities to acquire new skills with trainers and supervisors delivering guidance and inspiration throughout.

The foundation described the achievement as sending a solid message to the youth of Sharjah that challenge and perseverance can open new horizons and enhance goal achievement. Sharjah Capability Development Foundation plans to continue and expand the programme with more events and adventures. These will inspire youth and contribute to community development the foundation stated.

Tatweer affiliated with Rubu’ Qarn targets passionate and ambitious individuals aged 18 years and above the organisation’s website shows. The foundation was established to contribute to the progress and sustainable development of Sharjah. Its programmes have shaped the capabilities of the youth through targeted training and experiences.

A May 2026 announcement detailed additional future-ready youth programmes launched by the Sharjah Capability Development according to Sharjah24. These complement the ‘Towards the Peaks’ initiative by addressing a range of skills needed in the modern world. The foundation continues to build on its track record of engaging dozens of young participants in transformative activities.
