The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation reported that 99 per cent of private sector workers are now enrolled in the Wage Protection System, a digital platform that ensures salaries are paid on time and in full. This level of registration has grown steadily since the system’s enhancements, covering millions of employees across thousands of companies. MOHRE figures show the initiative forms a core element of the country’s broader social protection framework, which has evolved to address both local and expatriate workforce needs.

According to the ministry, its Labour Claims and Advisory Centre managed more than 3.4 million calls in the first half of the year, offering real-time support on rights and procedures. Officials resolved over 185,000 labour disputes through amicable settlements, attaining a nearly 99 per cent resolution rate that has eased burdens on the court system. The high volume of inquiries handled reflects both increased workforce awareness and the accessibility of the ministry’s digital services.

MOHRE data places total payouts through protection and insurance schemes at several hundred million dirhams during the period, continuing momentum from AED 650 million distributed the prior year. A comprehensive unemployment insurance scheme now extends to nearly eight million workers, providing a safety net that aligns with international benchmarks. The ministry’s assessment found these mechanisms have strengthened overall labour market stability.

Gulf News reported that the private sector workforce expanded by 2.5 per cent in the first quarter of 2026, with skilled positions rising 1.5 per cent as companies added roles. This growth coincided with continued Emiratisation efforts that have placed more than 190,000 UAE nationals in private sector jobs across 32,000 establishments. The ministry linked the expansion to policies that balance talent attraction with worker protections.

The achievements build on reforms introduced over the past several years, including updates to wage payment rules that took effect in June 2026 and tightened compliance thresholds. A MOHRE review presented at the International Labour Conference underlined how these measures have reduced violations and enhanced enforcement through technology. Officials noted that the framework has positioned the UAE labour market as a regional reference point for social security standards.

Further statistics from the ministry indicate that satisfaction rates among workers participating in related initiatives reached 95 per cent, supported by events and incentives valued at around AED 10 million. The integrated approach combines insurance, dispute resolution and digital oversight to cover financial entitlements comprehensively. These outcomes demonstrate sustained implementation across both federal and private entities.
