The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority reported that its Women’s Committee organised 15 developmental and social events across the first six months of the year. These activities targeted female employees to strengthen their ability to address both professional demands and broader societal shifts. The programme formed part of ongoing efforts to promote growth and resilience within the organisation’s female workforce.

According to a DEWA assessment published in February 2026, the committee delivered more than 50 activities and workshops throughout 2025 that involved over 1,400 female employees. Those efforts registered a 96 per cent satisfaction rate among participants, the authority’s figures show. The 2026 series maintained the same focus on communication, teamwork and work-life balance.

Fatima Al Jokar, chairwoman of the committee, stated that the initiatives empower female employees to contribute to sustainable development, the national economy and future generations. Her comments, carried in the authority’s earlier briefing, reflected the strategic goals guiding the group’s work. The first-half events extended this framework by tackling immediate requirements of women across DEWA’s departments.

Among the 2026 activities, the committee hosted celebrations of the holy month of Ramadan that highlighted its core values, DEWA noted in a February release. It also arranged a special gathering for International Women in Engineering Day at the authority’s new headquarters in Al Shera’a. Further sessions concentrated on capacity-building measures to help participants achieve lasting impact in their positions.

The authority, responsible for electricity and water services across Dubai, maintains a substantial female presence in technical, engineering and administrative roles. The Women’s Committee operates as an internal platform to advance their development while supporting equilibrium between career and personal commitments. DEWA has regularly underlined the value of these targeted programmes in creating an inclusive organisational culture.
