The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has organised 64 open recruitment days across the UAE during the first six months of the year, the Emirates News Agency reported. These events aimed to connect Emirati job seekers directly with employers in the private sector. The initiative forms part of ongoing measures to support national employment goals, with the ministry maintaining a focus on creating sustainable career paths for citizens.
A MoHRE statement placed the total at 64 open recruitment days since the start of the year, covering multiple emirates and a range of economic sectors. Similar programmes in the first half of 2025 involved 50 open career days with participation from more than 160 companies, according to a ministry release from August 2025. The 2026 figures reflect continued emphasis on bridging the gap between national talent and private sector demand.
The recruitment events operate under the Nafis programme, which MoHRE has said provides training and placement support for Emiratis entering the workforce. Private companies face specific Emiratisation quotas, and such open days allow them to meet requirements through direct engagement with candidates. The ministry’s approach combines job fairs with digital matching tools to increase placement efficiency.
Earlier data from the ministry showed it organised 100 recruitment open days from January to May 2023 with more than 340 companies taking part, MoHRE figures indicate. The current pace of 64 events in six months demonstrates sustained activity even as the programme evolves. Officials have highlighted the value of face-to-face interactions in matching skills to available roles.
MoHRE has set June 30, 2026, as the deadline for private companies with 50 or more employees to meet first-half Emiratisation targets, according to an announcement referenced by investment firm OneInvestments. Non-compliance carries financial implications, prompting many businesses to utilise the open recruitment days as a compliance and talent acquisition channel. The events typically feature immediate interview opportunities and on-site job offers.
Additional ministry initiatives include awareness workshops and online portals that complement the physical recruitment days, MoHRE documentation shows. These combined efforts have contributed to gradual increases in Emirati participation in the private economy over recent years. The open days remain a central component of the strategy to align national workforce development with broader economic diversification objectives.
